Just installed so the real review will be later but only if there is a problem. But so far install was easy popped right in my Toshiba Satellite and booted right up. Memory showed in computer/properties/system so all is well in PUTERland. My CPU usage was averaging around 50% or so was 80% spikes, now 20% with 50% spikes big change. System seems to be running faster but have not pushed it with any big photo or video projects but already see an improvement in performance in my editing software just playing around for a bit. I would suggest this pair of memory sticks to anyone between the easy install and how well they work it's a no brainer.

I was more than a bit apprehensive purchasing these from all the negative reviews. However, for $75 and guaranteed by Amazon I simply couldn't pass it up.

I ran Rember (OSX GUI for Memtest) and the Apple Hardware Test on both the stock & Corsair memory. Both passed with flying colors. I also ran xBench on the stock 4gb memory and again with the Corsair 8gb. The stock 4gb scored slightly higher than the Corsair memory did, but not by much.

It is possible I simply got a couple of good sticks versus all the bad ones. However, I can also see two potential issues that may have caused some people's issues.

The first and most obvious is static discharge and not grounding yourself before installing them. I have personally never had issues with this, but it is an easy way to kill electronics.

I bought this ram for an Acer Aspire 5739 Laptop. The original 4 gigs weren't cutting it during rendering with 3D Max Design Studio, so I knew that I needed to jump to 8 gb. I couldn't be more pleased with this purchase - since the day I got it, I have literally been running my laptop day and night rendering scenes - sometimes using up to 85% of available physical memory.

In the hours and hours of constant use, I have not experienced a single hiccup or issue at all. I have purchased Corsair products in the past and love the quality - I would definitely recommend this ram to a friend.

Just installed the 8GB in my wife's Acer TimelineX 5820T (a Core i3 machine that uses system RAM for video). Recognized immediately.

She needs the extra RAM for some program upgrades and because her studies involve having lots of apps running simultaneously. The extra RAM should help keep this machine running smoothly for the next four years of college and well into several years of her chosen profession. Also, if she needs to run a virutal machine for older apps, this will ensure sufficient memory.

Note that the packaging was easy to open. To get the chip out of its snug cradle, simply push gently on any corner of the cradle (from the outside of the package!) until the corner pops. Hold a hand over the chip to keep it from dropping when it comes loose. This puts no strain whatsoever on the chip itself.

This is the second time I've purchased Corsair. Very happy.

Plugged it in, put the back cover back on, fired it up holding down the D key to run the memory test. Memory test ran OK. Restarted.

"About This Mac" shows "Memory 8 GB 1333 MHz DDR3."

Note: After removing 10 screws, the back cover remains retained by two plastic clips near the center. Pry it up gently and it pops off.

Just replaced my 2 month old 15" macbook pro with the newest i7 model they released a few days ago. So my old 8GB wasn't compatible anymore. Only about 5 months ago that older style memory cost me not quite three times what this newer RAM cost.
