The Crucial memory did not work. The unit would not boot. I read another review that recommended a BIOS upgrade. That did not work either. I sent an email to Asus asking what memory to use. Their reply: Hi, the ram specification is ddr3 1333MHZ. And the Crucial CT25664BC1067 2g 204-pin PC3-8500 SODIMM DDR3 is 1066MHZ, so please change to a 1333MHZ ram and try again. I bought this memory and it works great! I installed the memory at first, but the screen would not come up (no bluescreen, just blank). I was worried I would need to return the memory and go with the Crucial brand. So, I changed back to the 1gb memory that was originally installed in the netbook. But I did not give up. After upgrading the BIOS to the latest version (currently 0901), I then reinstalled the memory and it worked perfectly! The screen came up and my netbook booted without any problem. I've noticed a speed improvement when running some applications (Microsoft Office, iTunes) and definitely think the 2gb is a worthy upgrade. 8 of 8 people found the following review helpful: By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Patriot Signature 2 GB PC3-10600 DDR3 1333MHz Notebook Memory PSD32G13332S (Personal Computers) I have just switched from the PC platform to the Mac and I wanted to upgrade the 4 GB of memory that my new 27-inch iMac came with, but I didn't want to pay the exorbitant amount of money that Apple asks for their RAM sticks at their store. I did my research to make sure I got the correct memory sticks and found this particular brand and model to have the exact specs that Apple asks for. I ordered two of these sticks from Amazon.com to bring my new machine's memory up to 8 GB total. Once I received them I followed to the T the Apple instructions on how to install them in the new machine. I experienced no problems or delays during the installation process and now my machine screams when I open and work in Adobe Photoshop CS5. Definitely recommended. |
