It is faster than almost all other RAM in the same class offered on Amazon, for only a few dollars more. Get it.This Corsair Vengeance laptop RAM is rated at 1600MHz frequency and maximum bandwidth of 12800 mebibytes per second. At 1600MHz it has 9-9-9-24 timing (if you don't know what that means, lower is better). Even if your laptop does not support running at 1600MHz, this RAM will run at a lower frequency to match that of your laptop, and will run noticeably faster due to the tighter latencies capable at lower frequencies. Just make sure the form factor is the same (DDR3, 204-pin, etc.) I replaced the memory in my Acer Aspire One 722 netbook [with an AMD processor] with this RAM. The factory installed memory was a Kingston rated at 1333MHz (10666 mebibytes per second) with a timing of 9-9-9-25. The Corsair has similar timings, but at the higher 1600MHz frequency. This one does cost a bit more than the other ones but worth the price upgrade. I was considering a 16GB (2 x 8GB) Kit upgrade as opposed to this but since I don't do any powerhouse computing I opted to save myself the extra $150 that it would cost to get the 16GB over the 8GB kit and put that towards an SSD which also has proven an incredible speedy upgrade for my MacBook Pro.Worth every penny! |
