Apple charges between $200 and $600 for a RAM upgrade. You can do this easily at home with minimal knowledge and save BIG $$$.
This is one of Apple's OEM hardware choices; it performs impeccably, meets all specifications, will not void your warranty and you will notice $$$ well spent difference.

Works flawlessly in a Mid 2011 27" iMac 3.4GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7

IMPORTANT NOTE FOR iMac BUYERS:

iMac RAM SLOTS ARE VERY VERY VERY TIGHT (one of the tightest that I have seen). These are LOW PROFILE sticks, which means that they will be seated well into your iMac. Upon install they will "click" into place approximately 3-5mm deeper than the other RAM in place, you will need to go in another 2-3mm. Start on one side and wiggle it in, you will have to push. AGAIN, THE iMac's HAVE SOME OF THE TIGHTEST SLOTS.

5.0 out of 5 stars recommended for Lenovo X-series notebooks, June 18, 2011

I recently acquired a Lenovo X220i running Win7-x64), and wanted to add another 4gb to get it up to 8gb (I recommend 6-8gb for 64-bit operating systems). Lenovo's price for the 4gb chip (55y3711) is about $70. However, the installed chip is a Samsung, and it appears to be identical to this item, so you can get the right item for quite a bit less at Amazon.

Installation in the computer was easy: disconnect power, remove battery, hold down power button for a few seconds to drain power, turn upside down & remove memory compartment (2 screws), carefully insert new chip in empty slot on the left (this is where you should consult a friend or the service manual if you're not sure of yourself). After putting anything back together, the computer recognized & passed the additional memory, Windows booted up without problems, has lots of spare memory for the memory hungry programs, and everybody's happy.

So this ram is identical to what you'll be pulling out. Its also a very tight fit :) Remember how hard it is when you pull the first ram module out as a gauge for how hard it will be to push the others back in. I found it easiest to push the top one in first and then pushing in the bottom one, almost bracing steady against the first. However doing the bottom first could give you more room for you fat fingered folk. If you get a loud medium toned "beep", then they are not pushed in all the way. Enjoy saving yourself $425 from what Mr. Job's charges for this upgrade! So easy a Caveman could do it.
